NYC recommendation - Farmacy in Brooklyn for soda shop- apothecary chic-sundaes to die for. TV rec - Severance. It has been agony waiting for series 2. And all kinds of yes for a YT cooking show. :)
New York foodie recommendation! In Jackson Heights (Queens) I recommend the Eat Your World food tour with Laura: https://eatyourworld.com/food-tours/ We sampled food from all over the world within a few blocks. Delicious!
Looking forward to your book. Always looking for creative ideas of what to cook for one. I have a small cast-iron skillet that's ready to make things other than frittatas (thought I do love frittatas).
P.S. I would love a YouTube cooking show! "The culinary school of YouTube" has taught me so much and I'd love to watch you in action and learn from you!
Oh thank you so much for the recommendation! And I'm so glad you're looking forward to the book- feels very surreal! Will keep you posted on the youtube, I think it could be a lot of fun! X
How you feel about painting is how I feel about sewing/cross stitch/embroidery. It's how I shut my brain off - because my hands have to be occupied with pinning and cutting and pressing and stitching, I cannot look at my phone. I might have a gentle TV programme or some music in the background, but that's the extent of it. It is tough to make the time for it sometimes, but I find that even if I do a little bit each day then I feel happy to have made some progress.
TV wise, I am currently obsessed with The Traitors. I would also so be here for a YT cooking show though :) And I have no New York tips because it's over 10 years since I went (although I am desperate to go back) and I suspect most of the places I visited are now closed, but I hope you have a marvellous time and I'm excited to see all the NY content!
Also, yay for Mr OPOP! And as someone who's also a member of the 'in a relationship but living by and mostly cooking for myself' club, I totally agree with the making time to do things for yourself that bring you joy, and hope there's plenty of that in your future :)
So glad you resonate! I think my attention span is just quite short hence the need to keep my hands occupied but wow it's so nice to do it in a creative way and not scrolling! I also LOVE the traitors (no spoilers, i'm 3 episodes behind!!) and will keep you posted on the youtube. Thanks for the love on Mr OPOP too haha, I think there always be solo fun in my future, and I'm sure yours too! X
Your brilliant book is my go-to and I love it. Is it too much hard work to occasionally offer gluten-free workarounds for the coeliacs amongst your fan club please? Have a safe and amazing trip to New York!
I am so so glad to hear it! So on my meal plans I offer alternatives/swaps to make recipes gluten-free and I've also just started putting this on the recipes on my website too (though haven't quite found the time to go back through the archive and do this on all posts) so will try and do this going forward! X

Thanks so much Eleanor, I really appreciate it. I will check out your website (I tend to work off your Insta account) and the meal plans. X
